The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals announced the launching of a new RSPCA My Pet app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Pet owners and animal lovers can now get the latest news directly from the organization along with access to some terrific and useful features. Meanwhile, Apple announced that it's App Store has just recorded 10 billion downloads.
RSPCA's iPhone app is free to download
Laura Donaldson, the RSPCA's head of e-marketing, announced that the new app was especially created for "Pet owners on the move." Donaldson adds that whilst the app is great fun, it also has a useful purpose. The pet diary she says, can be used to keep owners up-to-date on all aspects of their animals' needs including vet checks, vaccination dates and de-worming schedules.
The diary also includes handy hints and tips for felines, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, and the pet scrapbook allows owners to showcase their pets in a photo gallery. "The pet scrapbook contains some great backgrounds and frames for you to create your own pet slideshow," says Donaldson at Rspca.org adding that pet lovers can now, "Keep up with RSPCA news and appeals when... on the move, and you might even find a new pet!" The new app is free to download at Apple's iTunes App store.
